MUMBAI — HDFC Bank has officially released its annual report for the financial year ended March 2026, revealing significant shifts in the pay structures of its top leadership. The most striking takeaway from the comprehensive disclosure is that Executive Director and Deputy Managing Director Kaizad Bharucha outearned the bank's Managing Director and CEO, Sashidhar Jagdishan, drawing a total annual remuneration of Rs 17.14 crore compared to Jagdishan’s Rs 15.13 crore.
Both top executives saw substantial increases in their overall earnings for the fiscal year. These steep growth trends were primarily driven by massive jumps in performance-linked bonuses and expanded employee stock option allocations following a year of corporate transitions.
Sashidhar Jagdishan’s Pay Package Rises 19%
The bank's chief executive, Sashidhar Jagdishan, saw his total package increase by 19 percent compared to the previous fiscal year, climbing to Rs 15.13 crore.

The annual report also noted a regulatory compliance disbursement. In strict accordance with Reserve Bank of India guidelines, Jagdishan was paid 50 percent of his cash variable pay for the performance year 2024-25, which amounted to Rs 2.67 crore and was officially disbursed in January 2026.

Kaizad Bharucha, who was elevated to the role of whole-time director of the private lender in January, secured the highest overall remuneration package at Rs 17.14 crore. His compensation growth outpaced the chief executive due to aggressive variable performance incentives.
