Baruipur Minor Rape and Murder: CM Suvendu Adhikari Vows Capital Punishment, Visits Grieving Family Today
West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari visits Baruipur today to meet the family of a murdered minor, vowing capital punishment and zero tolerance for police delays.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has issued a stern warning of the harshest possible punishment for those responsible for the horrific rape and murder of a minor girl in Baruipur. Reinforcing his administration's "zero-tolerance" policy on crime, the Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Baruipur today to personally oversee the progress of the investigation and meet the bereaved family.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), spearheaded by an Inspector General (IG) of Police, has already been deployed to unravel the case and bring the culprits to justice.
Stern Warning to Negligent Police Officials
The Chief Minister is set to arrive at the Baruipur District Police Office around 2:00 PM this Tuesday. During his visit, he will hold a high-level review meeting with top police officials regarding the ongoing SIT probe.
Adhikari has made it unequivocally clear that administrative accountability is non-negotiable. Addressing the media on Monday, he issued a direct ultimatum to law enforcement: if any local police officer is found guilty of negligence or delaying action after the initial missing person's diary was filed, they will be immediately terminated. "I will show the concerned police personnel the door," the Chief Minister stated firmly.
Capital Punishment and Complete Government Support
The state government has pledged comprehensive backing for the victim's family. Adhikari emphasized that whatever the family demands from the government and the police, they will receive.
Ensuring swift justice, the Chief Minister declared, "The victim's family will get justice. The state government will make every necessary recommendation to ensure the culprits face capital punishment."
Sunday's Unrest and Political Developments
The tragic incident came to light on Sunday morning when the missing girl’s body was recovered from a local pond. The grim discovery triggered massive outrage, briefly turning the Baruipur area into a battlefield as furious locals protested the heinous crime. The volatile situation was only brought under control after Chief Minister Adhikari personally telephoned the victim's father, assuring him of immediate state intervention and unwavering support.
Meanwhile, political delegations continue to visit the grieving community. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation, led by Agnimitra Paul, is also heading to Baruipur on Tuesday morning to meet with the victim's family and express their solidarity.
