GapBag Collection Launches September 8 With Five New Handbag Styles
Gap launches GapBag, its first handbag collection, on September 8, featuring five denim-inspired silhouettes from $30 to $148.
Gap will launch GapBag, a new handbag collection, on September 8, according to Harper's Bazaar. The collection marks a new category for the brand, best known for its denim and celebrity-driven campaigns.
The GapBag collection features five silhouettes , the Five-Pocket Tote, Hoodie Tote, Favorite Tote, Crescent Bag and Shoulder Bag , built around signature Gap motifs like denim washes, jean-stitch detailing and the Arch logo. The Gap handbags line will retail from $30 to $148, and will include charms and keychains in line with the current bag-charm trend.
This marks the first accessories collection under Reed Krakoff, Gap Inc.'s executive director of accessories and a three-time CFDA Accessories Designer of the Year. "The Five-Pocket Tote is probably the clearest expression of that," Krakoff told Harper's Bazaar, describing bags designed to be "simple but not plain, easy to wear and designed to become your own."
The Five-Pocket Tote is an oversized denim carryall, while the Hoodie Tote reimagines Gap's Arch Logo hoodie with ribbed detailing and a drawstring closure. "It starts with creating something people genuinely want and love," Krakoff added.
The GapBag launch will be available starting September 8 via Gap's official website.
