Porsche has signed a five-year Porsche TCS AI deal worth 1.25 billion euros ($1.46 billion) with India's largest IT services firm, Tata Consultancy Services, according to CNBC. As part of the agreement, TCS will acquire Porsche's IT consulting business, MHP, for 320 million euros, the company said in a release.

The deal combines Porsche's "automotive expertise with TCS's digital and AI capabilities," Porsche chairman Michael Leiters said in the press release. He added that the partnership will boost the European sports-car maker's innovation, efficiency and competitiveness "in an increasingly data- and software-driven world of mobility."

Since the start of the year, TCS has secured multiple AI-led business transformation deals, and the company said its annualized AI revenues reached $2.6 billion in the June quarter, up 13.6% from the previous quarter, CNBC reported. The Tata Consultancy Services AI deal comes as AI is widely expected to affect the business prospects of Indian IT services companies, with the Nifty IT index down nearly 20% since the start of the year, compared with a decline of just over 7% for the Nifty 50.

The deal will take effect once TCS completes its acquisition of MHP, which employs around 4,500 people. Through the TCS Porsche partnership, the Indian software giant aims to "industrialize AI at scale for Porsche," said K. Krithivasan, chief executive and managing director of TCS. The agreement is also expected to strengthen TCS's presence in the German market and among European automotive and industrial customers, according to the report.

The Porsche MHP acquisition is part of Porsche's "Sportwagenschmiede 35" strategy, aimed at improving the automaker's profitability and cash flow. "We are firmly aligning our company with our core business," Leiters said last month, adding that streamlining operations at all levels would be a key element of the strategy.

Further information on the deal is available through Porsche's official website. No additional financial details of the agreement were disclosed in the available report.

The Porsche-TCS agreement adds to a series of major automotive industry developments in 2026, following recent news such as China's recall of 43 lakh vehicles over door handle safety concerns.
