PM Kisan 24th Installment: When Will Farmers Get the Next Rs 2,000?
PM Kisan 24th installment is expected around October 2026, four months after the 23rd payment. No official date yet — here's what farmers must check to avoid delays.
NEW DELHI — Farmers across India are awaiting the 24th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, which will bring the next Rs 2,000 payment to eligible beneficiaries' bank accounts. The government has not yet announced an official release date.
The 23rd installment was released on June 20, 2026, from Tarakeswar in Hooghly district, West Bengal, with around Rs 18,880 crore transferred to more than 9.44 crore farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer. Since PM-Kisan installments follow a roughly four-month cycle, the 24th installment is widely expected around October 2026, though this remains an estimate based on past patterns rather than a confirmed date.
How the Scheme Works
Under PM-Kisan, eligible landholding farmer families receive Rs 6,000 annually, paid in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each, roughly every four months. Certain groups are excluded from the scheme, including income-tax payers and most serving or retired government employees above a specified income threshold.
Steps Farmers Must Complete to Avoid Delays
To ensure the payment reaches their accounts without interruption, farmers are advised to complete three key requirements:
- Complete e-KYC through the PM-Kisan portal, the PM Kisan mobile app, or a Common Service Centre using Aadhaar-based OTP or biometric verification.
- Link Aadhaar with the bank account registered under the scheme, since payments are made via Direct Benefit Transfer.
- Verify land records (Khasra-Khatauni) on the government portal — if the land verification status shows "No," the installment may be withheld.
How to Check Payment Status
Farmers can check their status by visiting pmkisan.gov.in, selecting "Know Your Status," and entering their registration number along with the captcha to view details.
Officials have urged farmers to rely only on announcements from the official PM-Kisan portal and government press releases, rather than unverified claims on social media, for confirmation of the 24th installment's exact release date.
