United Airlines unveiled plans on Tuesday for its largest international route expansion to date, confirming 13 new routes to 10 destinations as part of its United Airlines international expansion 2027. The Chicago-based carrier said the new service will begin between March and June 2027, extending its global network deeper into Europe and Asia, according to a report by The Points Guy.

Nine of the ten new destinations are in Europe, with seven not currently reachable nonstop from the United States. The new destinations include Ljubljana, Slovenia; Luxembourg; Marseille and Toulouse, France; Valencia and Ibiza, Spain; Catania and Olbia, Italy; Terceira in Portugal's Azores; and Okinawa, Japan. United's Newark hub gains the most, adding eight new destinations, all in Europe.

Patrick Quayle, United's chief network planning officer, said the additions reflect the carrier's continued push into lesser-known international markets, noting Slovenia in particular "fits the profile of it, hook, line and sinker."

United also confirmed three new routes linking existing international destinations to different U.S. hubs: Los Angeles to Osaka starting March 27, Denver to Paris starting May 27, and Washington Dulles to Milan starting May 28.

A key part of the United Airlines international expansion 2027 is the airline's incoming Airbus A321XLR, a long-range narrowbody jet that will operate the carrier's first flights to Luxembourg, Toulouse, Ibiza, Valencia and Marseille, offering Polaris business-class suites and premium economy. The aircraft is set to make its long-haul debut in December on routes from Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin.

United said all newly announced routes are expected to go on sale immediately for travel beginning in 2027. Fares and full booking details can be checked directly on United's official website.
