AAP Protest Today: East Delhi Commuters Brace for Traffic Delays as Party Marches Towards PM's Residence

Monday, August 3, 2026:Traffic movement across several parts of Delhi, particularly on routes connecting East Delhi with Central Delhi, is expected to remain affected as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) holds a protest march towards the Prime Minister's residence. The party has called the demonstration to oppose the Centre's E20 fuel policy, with a large turnout of supporters anticipated throughout the day.

Security has been tightened around the protest route, and additional police personnel have been deployed to manage both the gathering and vehicular movement. Traffic diversions are likely to be enforced at several locations, especially during peak office hours, to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.

People travelling from Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar, Patparganj, Mayur Vihar, Krishna Nagar, Shahdara and nearby East Delhi localities may face longer travel times than usual. Congestion is expected on major roads, including Vikas Marg, ITO and the Akshardham corridor, as traffic is diverted around the protest route.

AAP leaders have said the protest is aimed at expressing their opposition to the Centre's E20 fuel policy, arguing that it could place an additional burden on the public. Party workers from different districts of Delhi are expected to participate in the march, making it one of the capital's major political demonstrations in recent weeks.
