Hyundai Car Price Hike 2026: Vehicle Prices Rise Up to 1% From September
Hyundai Motor India will hike vehicle prices by up to 1% from September 2026 across its portfolio, citing rising input and commodity costs.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd said Wednesday, August 19, 2026, it will raise vehicle prices by up to 1% across its portfolio, effective September 2026, according to a stock exchange filing reported by CNBC-TV18. The Hyundai car price hike 2026 follows a similar move by India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, a day earlier.
"The company has planned to increase the prices of its vehicles by up to 1% across its portfolio, effective September 2026. The quantum of increase will vary depending on the model and variant," Hyundai said in the filing.
The Hyundai price hike September 2026 has been necessitated by rising input and commodity costs, higher operational expenses, and ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainties, the company said in the filing. Hyundai said it continues efforts to optimise costs and absorb cost escalations to minimise the impact on customers, but that persistent cost pressures have made it necessary to pass on part of the increase.
The Hyundai Motor India price increase comes a day after Maruti Suzuki raised prices across its Arena and Nexa lineups from August 2026, marking its second hike this year following a similar revision in June. That increase ranged from ₹2,500 to ₹30,000 depending on model and variant, with Maruti Suzuki citing rising input and commodity costs and global economic factors.
Hyundai Motor India's consolidated profit after tax fell to ₹888.6 crore in the first quarter of financial year 2027 from ₹1,369.2 crore a year earlier, while revenue declined 0.5% to ₹16,334.6 crore. EBITDA fell 31% year-on-year to ₹1,511 crore, with the EBITDA margin declining to 9.3% from 13.3%.
Shares of Hyundai Motor India ended at ₹2,178.00, down ₹7.50, or 0.34%, on the BSE, according to CNBC-TV18. The Hyundai vehicle prices revision affects the company's full portfolio, though the exact increase will differ by model and variant.
Hyundai's September 2026 price increase, along with Maruti Suzuki's recent hike, reflects broader cost pressures across India's passenger vehicle segment. Further details on Hyundai's model lineup and pricing are available via Hyundai India's official website.
